From waste to resource: Training young researchers on developing innovative, circular solutions for wastewater treatment sludge - INCLUE

Delft University of Technology (TUDelft) is the largest technical university of the Netherlands, having about 26.000 BSc and MSc students and is high-ranking in various world university indices.


The Section Sanitary Engineering, has a track record in drinking water treatment, water distribution, sewerage systems, wastewater treatment, environmental engineering, industrial water. TUDelft employs 7 full professors (3 partime, 4 fulltime), 9 faculty staff members and 45 Post docs and PhD candidates.

TUDelft works on waste(water) valorization in close cooperation with industries, water authorities and other end-users. At present focal point is the development of energy neutral sewage treatment plants, as well as recovery of resources (water, nutrients, excess energy, bioplastics) from municipal sewage flows. TUDelft is frontrunner in online education, participating to the EdX platform preparing massive online open courses (MOOCs) serving tens of thousands online students worldwide.
