From waste to resource: Training young researchers on developing innovative, circular solutions for wastewater treatment sludge - INCLUE

Ngoc is a doctoral candidate (DC7) of MSCA INCLUE project, from Vietnam. She obtained the BSc. degree in Water – Environment – Oceanography in the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH, Vietnam) in 2021, and the MSc. degree in Water Engineering and Water Management in the National Institute of Applied Science of Toulouse (INSA Toulouse, France) in 2023.
During her studies, she participated in project and internships related to the application of biochar on water treatment, which allowed her to approach the knowledge in the Material field beside Environment and Water Treatment. Experiencing in various areas has led her to the interest of Circular concept and Waste valorization. Thus she decided to pursue PhD as doctoral candidate of INCLUE project in the University of Aveiro. In DC7, she will engineer biochar-based materials (EBM) to enhance the methane yield during anaerobic digestion and facilitate the recovery of fertiliser nutrients from the digestate for future agriculture application.
Coming from an developing country, she has an interest in solutions for wastewater treatment and agricultural application towarding sustainable development and circular economy in those countries.
