From waste to resource: Training young researchers on developing innovative, circular solutions for wastewater treatment sludge - INCLUE

Derya is a Chemical Engineer, from Germany. She did her undergaduate studies at the Technical University Dortmund and her graduate studies in a cooperation with the Kyoto University in Japan. Currently, Derya is the DC2 PhD Candidate at KU Leuven under the MSCA INCLUE project. Her project is about energy-efficient microwave-assisted sludge carbonisation, with the focus on produce hydrochar from sludge and use in agricultural. The aim is to understand how microwaves technology is benefitical for the degradation pollutants and heavy metals during carbonization.

In INCLUE project, Derya works on Energy-Efficient Microwave-Assisted Sludge Carbonisation at KU Leuven.
